WritingNepal is a community of writers, readers, and publishers. This page is about how we treat each other here — plainly put, not as a wall of legal text.
The short version
Be someone other writers are glad to have in the room. Give honest feedback without being cruel about it. Assume good faith. If in doubt, treat people the way you'd want to be treated on your own worst writing day.
What we expect
- Respect in feedback: criticize the writing, not the writer. "This pacing feels rushed" is feedback. Personal attacks aren't.
- No harassment: repeated unwanted contact, targeted insults, or pile-ons against another user, in Catches, comments, Praise, or messages.
- No hate speech: content or comments attacking someone for their caste, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
- No impersonation: pretending to be another real person, writer, or organization.
- Respect privacy: don't share someone else's private information (address, phone number, private messages) without their consent.
- Keep messages genuine: no spam, scams, or repeated unsolicited promotion in other people's inboxes.
What happens if this isn't followed
Depending on severity, this can mean a warning, temporary restriction, content removal, or a permanent ban — decided case by case, not automatically. Serious harassment or threats may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
Reporting a problem
If someone's behavior toward you or another writer doesn't sit right, please tell us — don't just leave quietly. Reach us here, and include as much detail (screenshots, usernames, links) as you can.
