How money moves on WritingNepal — topping up your wallet, unlocking Paid Posts, and how Akshar relates to real currency.
Topping up your wallet
You can add funds to your WritingNepal wallet via eSewa, Khalti, or other supported mobile wallet providers. Payment is processed directly by that provider — we don't see or store your card, bank, or wallet login details ourselves.
Akshar and real currency
Akshar earned through activity (reading, writing, Praise, streaks, etc.) is tracked credit at a fixed rate: 100 AK = Rs 1. This rate applies to redeeming Akshar toward Paid Post credit, and won't be changed retroactively on Akshar you've already earned.
Paying for a Catch / Paid Post
When you unlock a Paid Post, payment comes from your wallet balance and/or Akshar credit, depending on what the writer has enabled for that post. Once unlocked, that content is yours to keep reading — there's no separate recurring charge for it.
Refunds
Because unlocking a Paid Post gives you immediate, permanent access to that content, purchases are generally non-refundable once unlocked. If something genuinely went wrong on our end — a duplicate charge, a payment that didn't unlock the content it paid for — contact us and we'll make it right.
Writer payouts
Writers earn a share of what readers pay to unlock their Paid Posts. Payout mechanics (minimum withdrawal amount, timing, and method) are shown in your own wallet/earnings screen and may be updated as this feature matures — we'll always show you the current terms before you cash out, not change them retroactively on money already earned.
Taxes
Any tax obligations on money you earn through WritingNepal are your own responsibility as the earner, under applicable Nepali law.
